I have some great clients, friends, and family that have been a tremendous help and support through the start of this business, and I wanted to take the time to say THANKS FOR THE SUPPORT! I feel truly blessed that I have so many people interested in helping and working together to make this company a success.
I, as many business owners do, started out with an estimate of the kind of response I wanted for the first year. With that expectation, I knew I would need to work hard. So, I attended networking events and sent many letters with a goal of obtaining additional clients beyond those who I knew would continue doing business with me.
When the tax season hit however, I was not prepared for the response; the difference between what I expected and the response was astonishing to me. I worked long hours and had additional help in the evenings and weekends, but it was a challenge to finish all the returns by the deadline. Some of my clients needed extensions, and I’m so grateful for their understanding, as I explained the situation for my first-year expectations versus reality.
The referrals from clients, friends and family have been great for the start of the business. I only hope they continue throughout the year while I make plans for the next filing season to go smoother, as well as allow us to complete more returns by the deadline.
My goal with this company is to help clients throughout the year — not just at tax time, so I don’t want to lose site of that in the planning process.
Thanks to everybody again for the warm response and referrals, and please feel free to call or email if there is anything I can help you with.
